Intelligent Heat Alarm works with SmartThings

The Intelligent Heat Alarm now works with SmartThings

Do you have a SmartThings hub? Then you can now add the Intelligent Heat Alarm to your smart home setup to detect high temperatures and potential fires.

For this, you need to install the edge drivers from SmartThings. Find out how to do that here.

What is a heat alarm?

A heat alarm is used to detect fires, just like a smoke alarm. However, a heat alarm is not triggered by smoke but by high temperatures or unusually fast increases in temperature.

This way, you can prevent false smoke alarms in areas that are often smoky, humid, or dusty – for example, the kitchen or by a fireplace.

Installing this wireless and battery-operated heat detector is easy. It just needs to be mounted with screws in the ceiling or the wall.

Don’t be disturbed by false alarms

You probably recognize the scenario: you are cooking a meal for your family in the kitchen, and your smoke alarm keeps going off because of the smoke from the stove or the oven. Annoying, right?

The friently heat alarm makes this issue a thing of the past as it’s not triggered by the smoke inevitably coming from the kitchen but by rapidly increased temperatures in the room. This way, you can cook all you want without getting disturbed by your alarm.

If the heat alarm is activated, the alarm warns you instantly with loud beeps and you will get a notification to make sure you are warned in case you’re not home.

And if you have several frient heat alarms or smoke alarms you can interconnect them for improved safety so when one alarm goes off, the others go off as well.
