On a journey towards more eco-friently frients: Less plastic in packaging and new digital product manuals

At frient, we have always been inspired by the green color. It is, after all, in our logo and on everything we do.

But our inspiration goes further than just colors. We don’t want to just look green but also do green. That’s why we are continuously on a journey to rethink how we make our products.

New frient products has more paper in packaging

We are therefore excited that part of our new product packaging has now been changed from plastic to paper.

This change currently applies to some of our products on the market and not yet our full product range. But we are, of course, looking into continuing this trend so that we, in the future, will be able to deliver products that have plastic-free packaging.

It is important for us to note that this is a transition and that we are continuously working to optimize our offerings to minimize the environmental impact from our value chain.

New digital space for product manuals to phase out printed manuals

If you are the owner of a frient device, you have probably held a printed paper manual in your hand.

This paper manual needs to be printed with ink, stored, and transported before it goes into the product box.

By moving our product manuals to a digital space, we can eliminate the need – and resources used – for printing, storing, and transporting large amounts of physical manuals.

Therefore, we have now introduced a new digital home for the frient product manuals that is easily accessed through a QR code with your product.

This way, you will have installation guidance for your frient device right on your phone and in a more manageable format – making it much easier for you to find the info you need when you need it.

We think that’s a “two birds, one stone” kinda situation.

You can learn much more and check out the new digital product guidance home here.

Oh, and did you know?

Talking about the green color – did you know that the green color on your screen is more eco-friendly than, for example, the blue?

This is because of how much light is needed on the screen to reproduce the different colors, and blue pixels use approximately 25% more energy than green pixels, according to Sustainable Web Design.

Just another good reason to stick to our frient green.
