Level up your home security with the frient keypad and Homey – new features available
Are you looking for a keypad to use with Homey? Or do you already have the friently Intelligent Keypad integrated with your Homey hub? Then we have good news for you.
You can now use many more features of the Intelligent Keypad with Homey and use it as a control panel for the Heimdall system app, which lets you set up your own alarm system with Homey.
With frient and Homey, you can take your home security to the next level and have peace of mind that your home and family are safe at all times.
Securing your home with Heimdall
The integration of the Intelligent Keypad with Heimdall gives you full control and security. Please note that the Heimdall app is only available on the Homey Pro.
- Manage your surveillance modes via app or keypad: Forgot to arm your home when leaving in the morning? No problem, you can do so via your phone. And when you get back, you can just disarm your home via the friently keypad, and it’ll change the status in the app as well.
- Create multiple users with individual pin codes and tags: You’re not the only person needing access to your home? Assign pin codes and/or tags to each user and you’ll know exactly who entered your home at what time and can make sure your kids are home from school or your cleaner has done their work.
- Automate your home: With the Intelligent Keypad and the Heimdall app, you have many more options to set up flows in your home. Want to lock or unlock a smart door lock with your keypad? Done. Or maybe you want the lights to turn on when you unlock your home at night? Homey’s flows set no limit for your creativity.
- Easily add RFID tags: The Heimdall app lets you easily add new RFID tags. Instead of typing in their number, just scan them with the Intelligent Keypad, and they’ll be added to the app.
- Keep track of your home: If you’re curious about what’s going on at home when you‘re not there, you can find an overview of all activities in the Heimdall app and make sure everything’s well.

New functionalities directly in Homey
If you don’t want to use the Heimdall app or have a Homey Bridge, the latest update still adds some new functions that make it easier to manage your home.
- Switch directly from night to arm mode: Arming your home at night has just become much easier – you can do this directly from the keypad’s night mode, no need to switch to disarm first.
- Change the keypad mode via flows: When was the last time you got home and noticed that you forgot to turn on your alarm system?
- Set automations when a pin code is entered: Do you have flows set up when disarming your keypad? Now you can also activate flows whenever a valid pin code is entered in the keypad – no matter if your system is already disarmed or not.
